Permaculture Garden Plans

Question: How should I plant my vegetable garden?
I just built two raised beds. They are each 3.25′ by 12′, running north/south, with two feet between the beds, in Southern California. Mild weather. Lots of sun. Very dewy every morning. Planning on drip irrigation.
I want to plant for:
maximum vegetable harvest, year ’round
Have had lots of success with artichokes, tomatoes (omg!), zukes, cukes, strawberries, eggplants, jalepenos, etc.
What should I plant where in my new beds? I don’t know anything about Permaculture, or companion plants. I just like to eat vegetables.
We have terrible aphids!
Answer: Plant basil and marigold amongst your plants to deter aphids, You can also dose the leaves of the plants with a very diluted solution of water and dish wash detergent. Have you tried growing pumpkins? They look after themselves and pumpkin soup is fantastic. If you like spinach or silver beet plant these too as they grow well year round and look after themselves. Maybe some herbs – parsley or oregano? I have all these plants in my garden in New Zealand, plus most of the ones that you have mentioned and they all live together very happily.
