Question: What are the benefits of a Permaculture Education?

Have you ever done a Permaculture course (Permaculture Design Course for example)?

What have you found to be the benefits of a Permaculture Education?

Have you read Permaculture books but not done a Permaculture course? What have you found to be the benefits?

Answer: I have done premaculture design course

they are not very expensive. Introductory 1-2day courses can be arranged quite cheaply if a group of you get together. eg £37-165 http://Permaculture\.org.uk/ressch.asp?tblid=ce&mode=AI&page=3&title0=Events/Courses&title1=Permaculture%20Design%20Courses&title2=Introductory

you could negotiate to “work” your way through the design course by providing tutor support.

the advantage is a design “toolkit” and systems thinking to help solve all sorts of issues;
plus a network of people with similar values “earth care, people care, surplus share”

It is much more wide-ranging and applicable than organic gardening. It is about understanding inputs and outputs, and limits to growth and sustainability and locality, economics, transport…. applicable to the whole integrated community not just a providing a commodity.
