Question: Permaculture:: If the earth cools over the next twenty years by 3 degrees, What size greenhouse would..?

….be required to grow enough food for 2 people?

Answer: then get a tunnel or make a bio sphere

you can even live in part of it
if you do some internal landscaping
the higher the better so you can fit some trees in the middle (the highest part)
you can arrange the compost heap in such a way
that it produces extra heat ,but need some animals to produce material to feed it .
even having animals stabled inside ,will produce heat ,

In Friesland and Groningen the coldest parts of the Netherlands the old farm houses had their living quarters above the stables for the cows and horses ,they produce a lot of heat .
but it is also a bit smelly.

A very good size tunnel would be 50 meters
but you can do it in a lot smaller ones

You will need lights to fool the plants that the days are longer and you will get a lot more growth ,although the taste lessens

Also have to get on the ball about guilds and bio diversity so that you can COMPACT vegetation as much as is possible

Already you can produce quite a lot within say 10 square meters ,but a lot of things will be left out

ofcourse there will still be a lot of plants that can go outside .

but right now it is rising temperatures that we have to contend with.
this you can also counter act ,by building niches of trees closed of with bushes ,and an open space in the middle ,you will need at least 40m odd square meters to allow for that space

you can also build niches for the cold
